What does it take/require to work at a MAC cosmetic store ?

at like a department store or the MAC store itself?

whats the age? you don't need like a beauty school licence or whatever right? What does it take/require to work at a MAC cosmetic store ?
not to be a contrary jerk, but all of the above answers are incorrect. you must be at least eighteen years old. you also do not *need* to have a cosmetology license, diploma from a makeup school or anything like that. however, makeup experience is a necessity because you will be doing an interview where you need to bring a model and do a full well executed makeup on the model in front of a manager. while you won't be expected to know all the details of mac's products, you will have to know how to explain all the steps you are doing and why you are using certain colours, etc.

i've been working for mac for a year and i never went to any sort of makeup school. i had just been doing makeup on myself and friends/family for several years and done tons of research online and got as much knowledge of mac and cosmetics in general.

if you don't have any ';professional'; makeup experience, just play up what experience you do have in your resume such as art school or any art experience, how long you have been using mac or known about mac products, how confident you are in knowledge of their products, times when you've done makeup on other people, etc. you can totally sell yourself in other ways other.

Personally i'm glad i never went to any kind of professional makeup school because all my experience has been hands on and i got to jump right in and learn while working at mac. also, you are more likely to be open to suggestion/learning new things, etc by having no prior makeup schooling!

Remember that makeup skills are a learned talent, and having a personality is not! What does it take/require to work at a MAC cosmetic store ?
